With younger students or less intrinsically motivated students, parents should commit to monitoring their child’s online work. This involves ensuring that their child is online and working on their online learning platform for at least one hour per day. Parents do not need to teach their child. The role of the parent is ensure the child has access to appropriate technology, can use the technology, and then monitor, encourage, and reward their child’s work and online progress.
